Critical Factors

  • Dexlate must be placed into feeding root zone at application
  • It will not leach with further irrigation
  • If placed outside the root zone, plants will not respond

Fertigation Method

Travelling Irrigators

Fixed Irrigation Systems

  • Determine irrigation penetration depth
  • Determine feeding root zone of crop
  • Apply sufficient water to penetrate fully into root zone
  • Inject Dexlate through entire irrigation cycle

(Drippers, Low Throw or overhead sprinkles)

  • Determine irrigation infiltration rate i.e. depth of penetration per hour of irrigation
  • Determine feeding root zone of crop
  • Calculate timing with irrigation shift to place Dexlate within root zone
  • Apply product to target

"Spraygate" Method

For use where fertigation systems are not avaliable.

  • Determine target root zone timing as for fertigation method
  • Begin irrigation cycle
  • Spray Dexlate onto soil surface while irrigation is still in progress. High speed, low volume best, i.e. ULV on 4 wheeler
  • Continue irrigation to move Dexlate into target depth

Incorporation Method

Most Commonly used in pre-plant annual plants

  • Spray Dexlate onto soil surface using standard spray equipment
  • Incorporate physically using tillage equipment into root zone
  • Plant crop

Dexlate application will not be effective if:

  • Dexlate is sprayed onto soil prior to irrigation
  • Dexlate fixes to soil very rapidly if allowed to dry
  • NEVER apply to soil surface without irrigation in progress

Correct Application Method makes all the Difference
